80 billion garments are manufactured every year
And how many plastic polybags? These single-use bags, which are essential to protect products in the supply chain, are thrown into each customer’s sales outlets or at home. The problem is that they are not recyclable and even less biodegradable… Plastic pollution is unfortunately not a matter of the mind. Those who are lucky enough to travel know that: Not a place on this Earth, even the most remote, without seeing plastic everywhere.
We have part of the solution: our 100% compostable polybags
GOOD FABRIC offers you to replace your plastic polybags protecting your textile products and accessories with 100% compostable bags. In the end, they are tons and tons of plastic less.
Our individual polybags are made of GMO-free bio-polymers based on corn, soya and wheat – polylactic acid (PLA), polybutadipate butylene adipate-co-terephthalate (PBAT). They bear the OK COMPOST label and comply with the European standard EN 13432, the American standard ASTM D 6400 and the international standard ISO 17088.
2 possibilities are available to you:
- a bag intended for industrial composting (more transparent and with a longer lifespan in storage conditions)
- a bag dedicated to household composting (a translucent bag that degrades more quickly in nature)
The industrial composting bag has a more transparent appearance and is more suitable for clothing use because it has a longer lifespan in storage situations. In an outdoor atmosphere, its decomposition period is 6 to 12 months. Not only is biodegradation complete beyond this phase, but toxicity tests show that the bag is transformed into compost for plants without any harmful residues.
Of course, these bags can be produced in different sizes and micronages according to your needs.
